Judy Says What?

I still have trouble believing that they upheld the ban on Gay marriage. It seems like something that could have only been decided in the dark ages.

To me it seems that if we are born different than each other it’s a fact of life to be dealt with and celebrated. On one hand we encourage our children to grow up without many prejudices that existed in the past; on the other, our country enforces bans on gay marriages - So what is it going to be? The ban on gay marriage is prejudiced, hurtful, and antiquated.

What I often hear said is that it goes against the definition of marriage; well for Christ’s sake why didn’t you say so? Then all we need to do is update the definition of marriage. Don’t like that idea? Then let’s give it another name and definition as it applies to gay couples. They are entitled to enjoy the dream of the marriage ceremony and the commitment it implies, just like you and I.

In this instance if you don’t agree with me give your head a good shake. What if you were gay (for whatever reason that occurs) what if you fell in love and wanted to blend families and held that as your dream? What if laws said that you could not marry for whatever reasons that only others could see? You would be hurt, you would feel that society has taken a stand against you and your kind, you would be frustrated, you would be angry, and you would fight vigorously for change.

Well let me tell you my friends,
change it is going to, whether you and I like it or not.

You had better take the time and get used to it.
