What do Billy Mays, the Coup in Honduras, and Lisa Marie Presley Have in Common?
Headlines that caught my attention today…
Billy Mays
Today I got a birdseye view of how important each and everyone’s role in our world really is. Recently my husband and I had a mini verbal exchange about why on earth anyone would hire Billy Mays to act in commercials because tabernac, that man’s voice was annoying!
Today I see the headlines stating that Billy is gone; I feel disappointed to the same degree as if I had admired him… The spiritual wisdom of aging is setting in on me… He must have been a standard in the advertising industry because every time I turned on the TV, there he was… Hope they need lots of Hercules Hooks and Oxi Clean up in heaven!

This story shows me to give those for whom I do not care perhaps another chance? Well then again maybe not.
Goodnight Billy, sleep well
The Honduras
I was also affected by the curious unfolding of events occurring in the Honduras… President Jose Manuel Zelaya was forcibly removed from his home by military forces and taken to Costa Rica. Honduras is apparently another nation struggling to find a new and better way to do things. Following Sunday’s coup, I am hoping that Zelaya is reinstated and a more peaceful approach can be found. The military intervention approach doesn’t go over too well with any populace. Damn it would be nice to have a world where these things don’t happen.
It’s hard to believe that their whole situation revolves around President Zelaya simply wanting to ask the voters by poll if they feel the presidential term should be extended. Could it be that with such an antiquated system of managing the nations affairs; this mindset is likely the basis to their approximately 70% national poverty rate? Besides, it takes one government to run a nation properly. If there is a ‘backup and intervening government’ interfering in the handlings; how is one successful plan to ever emerge?
I am proud of Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s words regarding the coup saying that such actions “violate the precepts of the Inter-American Democratic Charter, and should thus be condemned by all.” It is statements such as these that open closed eyes, and if repeated often enough by the many will pave a new way. President Obama has also urged them to adopt democratic norms but said they should be left without outside interference. I agree with him there…
Lisa Marie Presley
Lastly, today I was affected by Lisa Marie Presley stating her opinion on the death of her ex husband Michael Jackson. She compared him to her late father. Can’t help but notice that she describes him as if but for the death preconception that he were just a regular guy. She obviously truly loved him…
So it may well be that the only thing these headlines have in common is that they are mentioned in my blog posting today, and that in my opinion they were worthy of discussion… And the post title was catchy too was it not?
And a word to anyone that visited while this posting was a mess that took forever for me to fix… I now know a few things that you cannot do with WordPress lol!
Also worth of note: I discovered by typo today that there is one letter difference between Clinton and Clingon… This unfortunately reminds me of an old joke… Sorry for reminding those that heard this long ago… What do the USS Enterprise and toilet paper have in common? They were both made to circle Uranus (youranus) looking for Klingons (cling-ons). Okay but it is funny if you say it out loud!
