We Can Put a Man on the Moon - Yet Cannot Stop Kim Jong-Il?
In light of Kim Jong-Il having missiles tested on Independence Day, I am as mad as Hell… This is one individual in a world of billions and it appears we are powerless to do anything about it? I don’t think so. I know it is an ‘uncivilized’ thing to say, but deal with it once I get it out please… I want him done off with - Not for any other reason than he is a raving lunatic, he wants to bring on a war and appears to be succeeding. It looks like he won’t stop until the war begins and we are almost there.
So the way it really is – Either find a way to take him out or deal with deaths of many, perhaps WW III and/or deployment of nuclear weaponry. The world can put a f*cking man on the f*cking moon, and they can’t find a way to take out the Asian Adolf Hitler? Come on now! Don’t tell me I don’t make sense… And don’t believe for a second that taking him out could begin a war by infuriating North Korea’s allies. Don’t tell me that the nations appearing in alliance with him aren’t there simply to avoid being first target or to avoid loss of trade with North Korea. Is finding a way to resurrect their finances not better than heading their nations to war?
Too bad that North Korea is not the only strained international relationship right now, as this compounds degree of difficulty (on finding a solution) immensely. The one nation guaranteed to take the wrong side on this or any other U.S. external issue is
Iran. Obviously such a solution as I suggest would involve timing, strategy, secret allegiances, trust, as well as a global change of mentality. Unfortunately it is easy to see when these types of plans are considered, boundaries are very hard to determine. I mean imagine trying to determine when, how, who, as well as to determine when the task is completed; and who picks up the bills. But that ain’t our job now is it? Sure this offered solution also could end us up in a state of war; but we are going there anyway - guaranteed. At least this would give us a chance to neutralize this impending war.
Sometimes you just have to say f*ck diplomacy to get things done, doncha think?

Wow you seem really angry. N. Korea has not killed a fraction of the civilians the US military has, nor have they created a fraction of the refugees the US military has. And the dont have a fraction of the nuclear capibilities the US has. Whats got you so worked up about N. Korea? Do you live there? Is Kim Jong-Il repressing you? Is his great crime wanting nukes? N Korea is regularly threatened by the most powerful nation on earth, the US. They want nuclear weapons to defend themselves, big suprise. I just dont get it, US actions have created millions of refugees in Afghanistan, Iraq and have also killed countless tens of thousands of civilians. We cant clean up N Korea’s back yard if we wont clean up our own.
Have you considered the ramnifications of a war with North Korea? It might not affect you (because you’re sitting comfortably on a couch thousands of miles away from the action), but realise that millions of South Koreans live within artillery range. Even excluding NBC weapons, conventional artillery aimed at Seoul is enough to level the city within days.
So unless the US can invade, destroy and conquer North Korea within hours, any rash war will be dooming the lives of millions of South Koreans.
(By the way, South Korea is a democracy and allied to the US. So it’s bad for South Koreans to die.)

It is true what you say, this is why blogs exist… So My ideas and yours can inspire commentary and an alternate point of view. North Korea playfully firing missiles at the U.S. with exceedingly increasing accuracy is indeed cause for great attention. You and I cannot assume that it is okay, that is definitely not in national best interest is it? What is the next source of weaponry to be tested? Where is this going?
I could understand something more innocent if there were some recent democratic works at hand and there were some points to be worked on - And there is another thing, why haven’t there been any talks? Right now if there aren’t arrangements being made to negotiate with North Korea, war may by default become the only choice. Kim Jong-Il has put the U.S. in a position where their safety is impinged upon, even if it isn’t a great threatening force. I understand that the U.S military is many times larger. Bottom line I already illustrated. No negotiations means yes war.

And for Bob… I greatly appreciate the thought behind your comment, as with all. I prefer to write my opinion exactly the way it unfolds as I watch the news. I do not claim to be a great politician or anything similar. I am a person, with feelings, and I feel.
I like to write the full power of the thoughts out before I sand the corners off. This because people such as yourself, dsent, and a handful of others love to correct those that they believe are stating mistruths or erroneous/naive ideologies. To me this is the good stuff. I have stated exactly as I feel/felt… two of you state juicy alternate opinions; you have thrown me a New York steak to sink my teeth into… And the world keeps on turning, all is good.
