Philadelphia Having More Racism Issues

Laundry is the only thing that should be separated by color

There seems to be so much to write on the topic of racism lately.  One of the first articles I read today was this one.  I am wondering why in Philadelphia, on an online law enforcement related message board, until now it had gone unmonitored that the site is heavily laden with racist commentary.  What is going on there?  Is this not the same city that recently turned away a camp of children of color from use of a swimming pool on racist grounds? Part of what I understand from what I read is that the black American population of Philadelphia is dealing with a lot of hardship.  No effing wonder!

How hard do you think it would be to achieve anything if you knew your fellow citizens chose to see you as human refuse and call you monkeys, wrongdoers, criminals, etc?  This city does not seem to manage racism well - or at all by the looks of things.  Racism causes the disadvantages these people are dealing with.  So first they must suffer through the indignity of racism thrust upon them.  As a result they have trouble finding good work, daycare, etc, have trouble paying bills, as well as all spinoff issues.

Then they must deal with the next level of racism.  Now that they are suffering the identifiable disadvantages (you know what I am saying, that which makes them different) and use these manufactured differences to explain why they were prejudiced against in the first place!  This is an outrage my friends.  This is what I am talking about lately when I tell you that the Universe is warning us to set things right across the board.  It is your duty as an evolving spiritual being to make sure you speak out.  Do not allow this to continue.  Of course I do not mean in this case alone, it is all around you.

As a matter of fact yesterday I was playing on Pogo.  There were two seemingly relatively ‘normal’ people speaking in the lobby.  I say seemingly because after a while of ‘normal’ the word ‘gay’ came up.  It was this word which provoked the one individual to go on a mini tangent about ‘hating gays.’  I gave pause before attempting to address, I wanted to see what happened next and also if I had to say anything at all – you know timing has to be correct to handle it right.  As it turned out, with a few well placed words, this man’s friend set him straight.  No more hate talk.  We need so much more peace.

For those of you out there that still feel the need to be racist, those of you are naturally unclean spirits and will not be changed of mindset.  I do hope you realize that as you have chosen to do wrong by these people, you absorb all of that negative energy coming back at you.  I shouldn’t even need to tell you that, you probably feel it already.  If you go around crapping on peoples dinner plates, will be the one eating from it – thus the poetic justice of the Universal Law of Attraction in Action.

Words from the wise:

“My generation’s apathy.  I’m disgusted with it.  I’m disgusted with my own apathy too, for being spineless and not always standing up against racism, sexism and all those other -isms the counterculture has been whining about for years.”  - Kurt Cobain

“At the heart of racism is the religious assertion that God made a creative mistake when He brought some people into being.”  - Friedrich Otto Hertz

“I was once asked why I don’t participate in anti-war demonstrations.  I said that I will never do that, but as soon as you have a pro-peace rally, I’ll be there.”  - Mother Teresa

I just left a message on Topix Politix regarding racism - People have truly convinced themselves, even in light of constant situations like these, that racism does not exist - denial is a terrible thing, it hinders growth. There are sooooooo many divisions in this world - too many for us all to be of the “human race”.

Racism wears me out because it is so irrational and with irrational people I close down - I even get angry inside because I have realized, over the many years I have been in the world, that most times you can not get through to them and their lack of recognition is frustrating to me.

Why do people hate? I feel like I have to take a minute to recuperate from all this conversation on hate and racism (even the Confirmation Hearings for me were burdened with racism).

I did not write an article yesterday but I am going to try today but emotionally, I am wiped out. Again I say, you have to admit to a problem before you can change the problem. Is it not time for a change!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wake up my people and recognize in the way that Jesus Christ recognized that in some cases even those who where not His “people” - their faith/belief was strong.

May the world and the people in it one day become as ONE.

I totally understand how you say it is draining. You made a comment the other day about one individual that I have been dealing with last few days. The intensity of their hatred is so strong. They send all of the messages of prejudices, yet this person claims to be married to a black man?

This individual whom I too have chosen to no longer respond to because of how their spirit seems to have a ‘twisting’ effect on mine - referred to her own grand-daughter as ‘mulatto’ and claims not to be racist. Funny, if I were in a bi-racial marriage and a need came up to claim what my grand-daughters lineage was, I would say mixed race. Don’t misunderstand me, we are all of one race as far as I am concerned, we were talking on skin color issues. But that ‘mulatto’ thing floored me. Not just me either. I did a little research on use of that word, and it is nearing obsolescence due to being commonly perceived as an insult.

What I am saying is that yes, once one tunes into prejudice, they will see it is everywere. Once tuned into it you see how it cloaks itself in so many different ways.
