Mumbai Bomber - Why?

Mumbai Bomber

Look at this man, Ajmal Kasab, 21 - Good looking to an extreme, he got away with hanging on to his false story for months, so I think it is safe to say he is pretty smart too.  This man was involved in a killing rampage killing in total 166 persons.  Why did he end up doing what he did?  No one can say for sure but if you read his whole story here, it is safe to say that after living his young life in poverty, he started gearing his life in a direction that he thought might remove him from that poverty.  So he turned to crime.  Take a closer look at the police station he sits in.  Compare it to a police station in the poorest North American city - no comparison.

So imagine being in either India or Pakistan and having a poorly paid job there compared to being underpaid in North America.  Again it is safe to assume that there is no comparison.  Commonly in our world when people have read such stories as I am reviewing here, they will say “Guy has a screw loose” or some such thing.  When you think deeply about this mans story and you think deeply about what growing up in India within such extreme poverty would really mean; you realize it’s likely that he did this being perfectly sane.  Even though he is far from being angelic or anything close, he probably did not begin as an evil man.  He was probably just a regular guy.

This story illustrates clearly that we should not be tempted to judge situations by outward appearances.  What I suggest to you is that the next time you hear yourself saying “The guy has a screw loose,” yet under closer scrutiny the crime in question had probably stemmed from a different cause; we know there are so many - dig into your pockets and donate to that root cause.  It may be poverty, homelessness, sexual abuse, physical abuse, mental abuse, racism, or any other kinds of abuse or ism.  If your finances are too tight for donations, do what else you can to help further the cause.  Volunteer, help someone or do whatever you think you can.  Write a blog and put some fresh ideas forth - whatever.  Let’s not talk, lets solve.  Talking seems to keep leading us further into the same direction.  Begin by being outraged by all this talk.

No more talking please…

This is our world, let’s not wait for others to fix it.  And what did you do for your world today?
